A background in journalism and a love of sports led Candice Kelm to join the McLennan Athletic department as Sports Information Specialist in 2006.
Kelm is an active member of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and a member of the Advocacy and Academic All-America® (AAA) Core Committees. In 2018, she accepted a new role within the AAA committee and serves as the national coordinator for the Two-Year, Canadian and Other Schools Division of the program. She is a founding member of 2ySIDA, the association for sports information directors of two-year colleges, and serves as treasurer. She is also active on the Women Sports Information Directors of America (WoSIDA) steering committee.
In addition to her duties within the athletic department at McLennan, Kelm lends her talents to the Marketing & Communications department. She is a member of the Administrative Advisory Committee, the Communications Committee and the Holiday Open House Committee.
Before coming to McLennan, Kelm spent three years teaching journalism and business at her alma mater, La Vega High School, where she also served as newspaper, yearbook and student council sponsor.
After graduating from La Vega in 1997, Kelm attended McLennan for two years before transferring to Baylor University. She graduated from Baylor in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in journalism and business.
