McLennan Baseball heads to regional tournament ranked No. 8

The McLennan Highlanders will head to the Region V Tournament later this week ranked eighth in the latest NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll. The Highlanders fell three spots this week after last Monday's loss to San Jacinto
 
Wabash Valley (Illinois), Central Florida, Gordon State (Georgia) and Walters State (Tennessee) continues to hold the top four spots this week. Northwest Florida State jumped two spots this week to fifth while Wallace-Dothan (Alabama) remained sixth. Southern Nevada moved up one spot to seventh.
 
Grayson, also a regional tournament qualifier, jumped four spots to ninth. New Mexico, the only other Region V opponent mentioned, is 20th. Navarro, the only other Texas school in the poll, is 18th.
 
McLennan will face Odessa in the opening round of the Region V Tournament at 5 p.m. Friday in San Angelo.
