Highlanders defeat Concordia JV

The McLennan Highlanders defeated the Concordia JV Tornadoes 117-53 on Monday afternoon in the final nonconference game of the season. 

The Highlanders used runs of 10-0 and 13-0 in the first half to break the game open and held the 58-22 advantage at halftime.

McLennan opened the second half on a 10-3 run and continued to pull away down the stretch as they cruised to the easy victory.

Sophomore Shawn Prudhomme and freshman Jalen Jones led the Highlanders with 18 points. Sophomore Julius Foster added 17 points. Sophomores Deondre Ray and John Savoy scored 12 points each. Sophomore Tevin Hanner added 10. Savoy also pulled down 12 rebounds for a double double.

McLennan will open conference play on Saturday, hosting Temple. The women's game will begin at 2 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4 p.m.
