Highlander Baseball No. 16 in NJCAA poll

The McLennan Highlanders, with an overall record of 27-11 fell nine spots to No. 16 in this week's NJCAA Division I Baseball Rankings.

The top four remained the same this week: Walters State (Tennessee), 35-5, No. 1; Central Arizona, 39-5, No. 2; Sante Fe (New Mexico), 35-3, No. 3; and Central Florida, 38-4, No. 4. Florence-Darlington (South Carolina), moved up one spot to No. 5 this week with a 38-5 record.

Other Texas schools in the poll: Blinn, 30-10, holding at No. 10; and Weatherford, 31-7, up four spots to No.12. Navarro and Temple are receiving votes.

McLennan, Weatherford and Temple all compete in NJCAA Region V along with New Mexico, moving up two sots to No. 18 this week with a 30-9 record.

The Highlanders host Cisco for a noon doubleheader Wednesday.
