Waid Named Position Player of the Week

Highlander Baseball's Ty Waid was named Position Player of the Week. The freshman from Texarkana, Arkansas, had a .300 average in three games last week. He went 1-2 with a triple, a run scored and two sacrifice flies in the Highlanders 12-1 win over Galveston. He followed that with a 2-5 performance at the plate in the 10-5 victory over the Whitecaps with a double, a grand slam, five RBI and two runs scored.
