The McLennan Highlanders (7-2) are No. 5 in the first NJCAA rankings of the 2026 regular season.

Chipola (Florida) is No. 1 with a 19-1 record, followed by Walters State (Tennessee) at No. 2 with a 14-2 record and Midland (Texas) at No. 3 with a 12-0 record. Johnson County (Kansas) is No. 4 with a 15-1 record.

Other Texas teams record: San Jacinto, No. 8, 13-2; Blinn, No. 9, 10-5; and Panola, No. 16, 12-3. Weatherford is receiving votes. New Mexico (9-5), a Region V opponent of McLennan, is No. 20.
