The McLennan Highlanders swept the Ranger Rangers this afternoon at Bosque River Ballpark.
McLennan took the opener 4-1 with Stevie Doty getting the win and Griffin Lewis picking up the save.
The Highlanders scored one in the second. Brock Lulewicz singled and Cooper McEnroe walked. Brady Quinn walked to load the bases, and Tyler Ness walked to score Lulewicz.
Ranger tied the game with a run in the fourth. Joey Rodriguez and Will Moffit both singled. Rodriguez was out at third on a fielder's choice by Reid Richard, and Moffit scored on a single by AJ Sanchez.
McLennan took the lead with two runs in the fifth. Sam Jenkins walked and Brennon Seigler singled, Jenkins scored on as ingle by Cooper McEnroe, and Seigler scored on an error.
The final Highlander run scored in the sixth. Quinn single and advanced on a ground out by Ramon Corona. Jenkins then singled to score Quinn.
Game two was a 10-2 run-rule victory for McLennan with Charlie Kincaid getting the win on the mound.
McLennan took control with five runs in the second. Ness, Quinn and Nathan Tobin all singled. Michael Peavy singled to score Ness. Jenkins then tripled to score Quinn, Tobin and Peavy, and Jenkins scored on a ground out by Peyton Firgens.
Four more Highlander runs scored in the third. McEnroe doubled and Ness walked. Quinn followed with a three-run homer, and Tobin hit a solo homer.
Ranger scored one in the fifth as Richard doubled and came around to score on an error.
Quinn hit a solo home run for McLennan in the bottom of the fifth.
Ranger rounded out the scoring with a run in the seventh. Richard and Ashton Fisher both walked. Richard advanced on a line out by Sam Kelley and then scored on a single by Jeremiah Torres.
