McLennan basketball ranked in NJCAA poll, Mills earns conference honor

The McLennan Community College men's basketball team is ranked 14th in the latest NJCAA Division I Basketball Poll released today.

Hutchinson is ranked first, followed by Trinity Valley from Region XIV in second and Northwest Florida State in third.
 
Other Region V schools ranked are Hill (fifth) and Ranger (16th). Odessa from Region V and Blinn from Region XIV are receiving votes
The Highlanders have an overall record of 11-1 and host Eastfield at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
 
Sophomore guard Alex Mills was named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 23-29. The Laurens, South Carolina native scored 29 points in the Highlanders' win over Cedar Valley. He was 10-20 from the field, 5-11 from 3-point range and 4-4 from the free throw line. This is Mills' second honor this season and the fourth for McLennan players.
