McLennan Golf No. 5 in final Bushnell Golfweek spring rankings

The McLennan Highlanders golf team moved up one spot to fifth with 35 points in the final Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches Poll of the spring.

Indian Hills (Iowa) remained the unanimous choice for No. 1 with 60 points followed by Midland (Texas) moving up one spot to second with 53 points. Central Alabama jumped from 10th to third with 39 points followed by Eastern Florida State dropping from second to fourth with 36 points.

NJCAA Region V opponents for Midland and McLennan also in the poll are: Western Texas, ninth, nine points, and Odessa, 10th, eight points. New Mexico was one vote shy of making the top-10 with seven votes.

The Highlanders will compete in the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship May 15-18 at The Rawls Course in Lubbock.
