McLennan’s Lorentzen and Isakson earn PING awards

McLennan men's golfers Matt Lorentzen and Alex Isakson were named to the NJCAA Division I PING awards announced Monday by the Golf Coaches Association of America for their outstanding play during the 2017-18 season.

Lorentzen, a freshman from Hvidovre, Denmark, was named to the District II All-District and Honorable Mention All-America Teams. He has competed in all eight tournaments this year, claiming seven top-10 finishes including a championship at the Dr Pepper Classic and a tie for second at the NJCAA National Preview. He was also named to the NJCAA Division I All-Freshman Team.  

Isakson, a sophomore from Argyle, Texas, was also named to the District II All-District Team. He has also competed in all eight tournament this year claiming six top-10 finishes including a tie for second at the NJCAA National Preview and a second-place finish at the NMJC Invitational.

Lorentzen, Isakson and the Highlanders are competing in the NJCAA Division I National Championship in Lubbock this week with the final round scheduled for Friday.
