McLennan men's golf punches ticket to 18th consecutive national tournament

The McLennan Highlanders qualified for the program's 18th consecutive NJCAA Division I National Championship with a strong finish at the NJCAA District 2 Championship. The Highlanders shot 300-306-296 – 902 at the par-71, 6,958-yard Squaw Creek Golf Club in Willow Park.
 
Midland, Odessa and Western Texas join McLennan as the four qualifying Region V squads for the national tournament. The tournament will be held at The Rawls Course in Lubbock May 10-13.
 
Kevin Yang and Ulrik Joergensen shot 74-78-74 – 226 and 75-75-76 – 226, respectively, to lead the Highlanders and finish tied for 15th place.

Other McLennan scores: James Perry, tied for 17th, 81-76-70 – 227; Holden Hamilton, tied for 17th, 75-81-71 – 227; Landry Schmoker, tied for 21st, 74-80-75 – 229; and Hayes Hamilton, 25th, 76-73-81 – 230.
