Highlanders up to No. 3 in Bushnell/Golfweek

The McLennan Highlanders jumped four spots to No. 3 in the latest Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches' Poll released by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Defending national champion Hutchinson (Kansas) remained No. 1 with 50 points, followed by Midland (Texas) up one spot to No. 2 with 45 points. 

Odessa (Texas) fell four spots to sixth this week with 21 points, and New Mexico makes its first appearance in the poll at No. 10 with nine points.

McLennan, Midland, Odessa and New Mexico all compete in NJCAA Region V. Western Texas and Ranger, also from Region V, dropped from the rankings this week. Western Texas is continuing to receive votes.

The Highlanders host the River Classic Sept. 20-21 at Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco.
