McLennan Highlanders finish tied for eighth at national tournament

The McLennan Highlanders shot a final-round 285 to finish tied for eighth place at the NJCAA Division I National Championship in Odessa. The Highlanders finished with a four-day total of 1,173 after shooting rounds of 295, 306, 287 and 285.

Hutchinson (Kansas) finished in first place with 284-282-282-282 – 1,130, followed by Odessa in second with 287-303-279-281 – 1,150 and Midland (Texas) in third 291-297-284-279 – 1,151. New Mexico finished fourth with 288-297-278-289 – 1,152, and Eastern Florida State was fifth with 288-297-283-289 – 1,157.

James Perry and Liam Gobin led the Highlanders with 73-75-72-71 – 291 and 76-72-72-71 – 291, respectively, and finish tied for 26th place.
