Highlanders ranked sixth in preseason poll

The McLennan men's golf squad will begin the season ranked sixth in the Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches' Poll. The Highlanders received 32 points in the preseason poll.

Defending national champion Odessa (Texas) sits atop the rankings with 55 points, followed by Midland (Texas) in second with 46 points and New Mexico in third with 43 points. Indian Hills (Iowa) and Hutchinson (Kansas) are tied at fourth with 35 points each.

Other Texas squads ranked include: Ranger, eighth, 13 points, and Western Texas, ninth, 11 points. Tyler is receiving votes.

The Highlanders open the fall season Sept. 7 at the Andrews Collegiate/Amateur Invitational in Andrews, Texas.
