The McLennan Highlassies went 2-3 this weekend at the Galveston Tournament.
On Friday, the Highlassies fell to San Jacinto 3-2 in the morning game with Stacey Underwood taking the loss. Courtney Mica recorded a triple and an RBI. Sevanah Campos also recorded a double.
In the afternoon game, the Highlassies fell to Alvin 7-5 with Tiffany Birdwell taking the loss. Natali Duron went 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Taylor Davis was also 2-4. Kaymee Gooden and Leeza Valdez both recorded RBIs.
McLennan bounced back to defeat host Galveston 8-3 with Birdwell getting the win. Davis led at the plate, going 3-4 with two triples, a home run and five RBIs. Abby White was 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Mica went 2-4 with an RBI.
On Saturday, the Highlassies opened the day with a 10-6 loss to Blinn with Birdwell taking the loss. Duron was 2-4 with a double and Birdwell went 1-3 with two RBIs. White was 2-4 with two RBIs and Campos was 2-3 with a double.
McLennan defeated Houston-Victoria 12-4 with Underwood picking up the win. Davis led the Highlassies, going 3-4 with a double and 4 RBIs. White recorded two doubles and three RBIs. Mica picked up two RBIs and Darian Sanchez recorded one.
McLennan travels to Beeville on Wednesday to play Coastal Bend in a noon doubleheader.
