McLennan's Saldivar named NTJCAC Position Player of the Week

McLennan Softball first baseman Serena Saldivar has been named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Position Player of the Week for Feb. 26-March 4 following her phenomenal performance in the conference-opening doubleheader at Hill College.

Saldivar, a sophomore from Wylie, hit .800 in the two games. That average included going a 3-4 in game one with a grand slam and two three-run home runs for a total of 10 RBIs in game one.  She also scored five runs and recorded four walks in the two games.

The Highlassies have an overall record of 18-8 and are 2-2 in conference play. They continue conference play tomorrow traveling to Sherman for a 1 p.m. doubleheader with Grayson.
