McLennan Softball jumps to No. 7 in NJCAA poll

McLennan Softball jumped one spot to No. 7 in the latest NJCAA Division I Rankings released this afternoon.

Wallace State-Hanceville moved up one spot to No. 1 this week, followed by Yavapai, also up one spot this week, at No. 2. Florida Southwestern State, the previous No. 1, fell to No. 3. No. 4-6 remained the same this week: Seminole State (Oklahoma), Odessa and Butler (Kansas). Chipola, last week's No. 7, fell to No. 10. Chattanooga State and moved up a spot to No. 9, and Pensacola State jumped from No. 12 last week to No. 9 this week.

Other Texas schools in the ranking: Grayson, down one spot to No. 12; San Jacinto, up one spot to No. 14; and Howard, remaining at No. 18. Paris is receiving votes.

McLennan will face LSU-Eunice, No. 13 in NJCAA Division II, in a four-game series beginning at 4 p.m. Friday in Eunice, Louisiana.
