McLennan’s Wong named NJCAA Division I Co-Player of the Year
McLennan Softball's Caitlyn "CC" Wong is the 2022 NJCAA Division I Co-Player of the Year. The sophomore infielder from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, was an offensive force this season. She led the nation with a .580 batting average, was third with 91 RBIs, and fourth with 27 home runs. In her 58 games this season, she recorded 91 hits with 15 doubles along with 34 walks and 63 runs scored.
Wong claimed a slew of awards this spring. She was named NTJCAC First-Team All-Conference, the NTJCAC Offensive Player of the Year, NJCAA All-Region V, a NJCAA Division I National Championship All-Tournament Team selection, the NJCAA Most Outstanding Offensive Player, NFCA West All-Region, and NFCA First-Team All-American. She is also a nominee for the 2022Academic All-America® Team in the College Division. As a freshman, she was named the NTJCAC Offensive Player of the Year, NTJCAC First-Team All-Conference, NFCA All-American Second Team and NFCA All-Region West Second Team.
CC will be continuing her athletic and academic career at Grand Canyon University in the fall.
