McLennan Softball No. 7 in NJCAA poll

The McLennan Softball squad, with a record of 13-5, comes in at No. 7 in the first regular season NJCAA Division I Rankings.

Grayson, a conference opponent of McLennan, sits at No. 1 with a record of 15-3. Northwest Florida State is No. 2, followed by Florida SouthWestern at No. 3. Wallace State-Hanceville (Alabama) is No. 4 and Odessa (Texas) comes in at No. 5.

San Jacinto and Galveston, the only other Texas schools in the rankings, are No. 12 and No. 18, respectively.

McLennan opens conference play Wednesday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Hill in Hillsboro.
