McLennan Softball slips to No. 8 in poll

The McLennan Softball squad, with an 18-6 record, slipped to No. 8 in this week's NJCAA Division I Softball Rankings.

The top four teams remained the same: Grayson (Texas), 21-3, No. 1; Northwest Florida State, 33-3, No. 2; Florida SouthWestern, 23-3, No. 3; and Odessa, 20-3, No. 4.

Galveston and Weatherford are the only other Texas squads named in the rankings. Galveston dropped one spot to No. 14 with a 20-4 record. Weatherford, a conference opponent of McLennan, moved into the rankings this week at No. 20 with a 21-4 record. San Jacinto and Temple are receiving votes.

McLennan and Weatherford will play a four-game conference series this week beginning with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Wednesday at Bosque River Ballpark.
