McLennan Softball down to No. 11 in NJCAA Rankings
The McLennan Softball squad, with an overall record of 20-8 and 6-2 in conference play, dropped three spots to No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Division I Softball Rankings released today.
Northwest Florida State (35-3) and Florida SouthWestern (29-3) both moved up into the top spot this week to No. 1 and 2, respectively. Grayson (Texas), the previous No. 1 and a conference opponent of McLennan, fell to No. 3 this week with a 22-4 record overall.
Other Texas schools in the rankings include: Odessa (24-4), down two spots to No. 6; Galveston (24-4), up two spots to No. 12; and Weatherford (22-7), remaining at No. 20. Temple and San Jacinto are receiving votes.
McLennan continues conference play this week with a four-game series against Vernon. Wednesday's doubleheader at Bosque River Ballpark will begin at 1 p.m., and Saturday's doubleheader in Vernon will start at noon.
