Highlander Softball sweeps Player of the Week honors
A pair of McLennan Highlanders claimed the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Player of the Week awards following an outstanding opening weekend.
Left fielder Mickayla Tosch was named the Position Player of the Week. The sophomore from Rosenberg had a .700 batting average in five games with three doubles, a triple, seven RBI, six walks and 10 runs scored.
Freshman Natalie Klenda was named the Pitcher of the Week. The right-hander from Wichita, Kansas, made two appearances in the circle, picking up two wins in eight innings of work. She faced 32 batters, allowing seven hits and one run with three strikeouts and no walks for a 0.88 ERA.
