The McLennan Highlanders dropped both games of today's doubleheader at Northeast Alabama.
The Mustangs defeated the Highlander 4-2 in the opener. Olivia Garrett took the loss on the mound.
McLennan got on the board with Lily King's solo home run to lead off the second.
Northeast Alabama tied the game with a run in the third. Chloe Hatch doubled and advanced on a ground out by Kiley Weston. Marti McCluskey then singled to score Hatch.
The Mustangs took the lead with three runs in the fifth. McCluskey and Francesca Lumpp both walked. Austin McNeece followed with the three-run homer.
The Highlanders rounded out the scoring with a run in the top of the sixth. Brooke Fechner led off with a double, and Macie Jansky reached on an error. A fielder's choice by King put Jansky out at second and moved Fechner to third. Tayen Allen then hit into a double play, scoring Fechner.
Northeast Alabama got the 114-4 run rule in game two with Allyson Schauer taking the loss in the circle.
The Mustangs scored one in the first with Weston's solo home run.
Three more Northeast Alabama runs scored in the second. Morgan Perkins singled and score on Emma Hindmon's home run. Hatch followed with a solo home run.
McLennan score two in the third. Jordan Tosch walked, and Ellie Brown and Chayne Allen both singled to load the bases. Jayden Sadler then singled to score Tosch and Brown.
The Mustangs added 10 runs in the fourth. Perkins doubled and scored on a single by Hindmon. Pearl Bellomy came in a pinch runner for Hindmon. Breanna Wilson singled, and Hatch followed with a three-run homer. Weston and McCluskey both singed, and Lumpp doubled to score Weston. Iliana Flores pinch ran for Lumpp, and McCluskey scored on a sac fly by McNeece. Olivia Acuff then singled score Flores. Acuff advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Perkins. Hindmon singled but was out at second on a fielder's choice by Wilson. Hatch followed with a single, scoring Perkins and Wilson.
The final two McLennan runs scored in the top of the fifth. Allen singled and Rylie Marquart doubled. King singled to score both runners.
