Highlanders fall to McCook

The #10 McLennan Highlanders' season came to an end tonight with a 5-2 loss to the #16 McCook Indians.

McCook took control with five runs in the top of the second inning. Kashlin Beck doubled and Ellie Baca reached on an error. Lacyn Keller then singled to score Beck, and Paige Warren singled to score Baca and Keller. Josie Wright doubled to score Warren, and Lyndsay Keogh singled to score Wright.

The Highlanders put two runs on the board in the sixth. Kaelani Rogers singled and was replaced by pinch runner Lillian Jones. Jordan Tosch singled and Tayen Allen reached on an error, loading the bases. Karaline Smitherman followed with a single, scoring Jones. Rylie Marquart then singled to score Tosch.

The Highlanders end the year with an overall record of 43-16.
