In a game that came down to the last three seconds, the McLennan Highlassies fell to the No. 7 Seward County Lady Saints 87-86 on Friday night in the Seward Classic in Seward, Kan. McLennan led 86-85 with just under 20 seconds to go. A Seward County lay up with three seconds to play sealed the win and kept the Lady Saints' undefeated record intact.
Freshman Amani Davis led McLennan with 22 points and sophomore Shanice Davis added 15. Sophomore Kyra Bauer and freshman Kendra Wynn scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Sophomore Ashley Bean rounded out the Highlassies in double figures with 10.
The Highlassies ended their seven-game losing streak on Saturday with an 84-75 victory over the Dodge City Conquistadors.
Sophomore Shanice Davis and freshman Amani Davis led the Highlassies with 16 points each.
The Highlassies will host the McLennan Shoot-out on Jan. 3-4.
