Highlassies fall to Grayson in regular-season finale

The McLennan Highlassies slipped to the Grayson Lady Vikings 73-56 in their final home game of the regular season.
 
Both teams started slow. Grayson led 2-0 with 6:22 to go in the first half, both points coming from the free throw line. Miannah Little scored a bucket and one with 6:05 to go in the first to start he McLennan scoring. Little's points started an 11-2 run for the Highlassies and McLenan led 11-4 at the end of the first quarter.
 
McLennan led 18-14 with 5:29 in the second. A pair of injury-related stops in play got the Highlassies off their rhythm. Grayson rallied with a 15-0 run and held the 31-20 advantage at the half.
 
Grayson led by 12, 36-24, 2ith 6:50 to play in the third. McLennan put together a 6-0 run with buckets from McKenzie Piper and Mariona Garcia, and a pair of free throws from Lilttle to cut the Grayson lead to six, 36-30. The Lady Vikings extended the lead to 13 late in the quarter and held the 47-37 lead going into the fourth.
 
The Highlassies pulled within eight on a Garcia jumper with 7:42 to go in the game but that would be as close as they could get.
 
Raija Todd led the Highlassies with 15 points and Miannah Little added 13.
