McLennan stays at No. 8 in basketball rankings

Once again, the McLennan Highlassies (14-1, 2-0) are No. 8 in the NJCAA Division I Basketball Rankings, a spot they have held since Dec. 12.

South Georgia Tech and Trinity Valley (Texas) moved into the top two spots this week while Eastern Florida State jumped from sixth to third. Northwest Florida State and Blinn (Texas) remain fourth and fifth, respectively. Gulf Coast State (Florida), the previous No. 1, fell to No. 6.

Collin, McLennan's weekend conference opponent, remains at No. 9, and Grayson, another conference opponent, moved up two spots to No. 22. New Mexico and Clarendon, both competing in Region V, come in at No. 11 and No. 25, respectively.

McLennan continues conference play Wednesday, hosting Cisco at 5 p.m. The Highlassies travel to Collin Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip off.
