McLennan players earn Players of the Week awards

McLennan basketball guards Saneea Bevley and Nick Shogbonyo were named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Players of the Week for their performances on the hardwood.

Bevley, the sophomore from Kansas City, shot 53.8 percent from the field, 47.8 percent from 3-point range and was 5-5 from the free throw lines in two games are the Angelina Classic. Against host Angelina, Bevley scored 25 points to go along with three rebounds, five assists and two steals. She followed that with 33 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal against CCBC Essex.

Shogbonyo, a sophomore from Arlington, shot 55.6 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range and 90.9 percent from the free throw line for 22 points against Victoria along with seven rebounds three assists and two steals.
