McLennan women move to No. 6 in NJCAA poll

The McLennan women's basketball squad jumped eight spots to No. 6 in the first NJCAA Division I regular season poll.

Northwest Florida State, the defending national champion, remains at No. 1. Dodge City (Kansas), Chipola (Florida) and Three Rivers (Missouri) all moved up two spots to No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively .Gulf Coast State (Florida) moved up five spots to No. 5.

Other Texas teams ranked include: South Plains, down five spots to No. 12; Grayson, up six spots to No. 15; Collin, entering the poll at No. 17; Clarendon, entering the poll at No. 21l and Tyler, entering the poll at No. 23.Odessa and Kilgore are receiving votes, and New Mexico, a Region V institute, dropped two spots to ranked No. 11.

McLennan returns to the court Tuesday, hosting Coastal Bend at 5:30 p.m.
