McLennan women No. 17 in NJCAA rankings

The McLennan women's squad (18.4) is No. 17 this week.

Eastern Arizona, 12-1, is No. 1, followed by Butler (Kansas), 22-1, at No. 2, and Northwest Florida State, 19-3, at No. 3. Chipola (Florida), 21-2, is No. 4, and Shelton State (Alabama, 21-2, is No. 5.

Other Texas teams ranked include: Trinity Valley, No. 9, 20-2; Clarendon, No. 15, 23-1; Collin, No. 20, 17-4; and Grayson, No. 22, 17-3. Howard is receiving votes. New Mexico (18-3), a Region V opponent, is No. 8.

McLennan will host Weatherford Wednesday at The Highlands. Women's action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the men at 7 p.m.
