Highlassies claim Region V Championship, qualify for 19th consecutive national tournament

The McLennan Highlaassies shot 294 today to claim their fourth consecutive NJCAA Region V Championship.

Western Texas finished in second place with 322.

Gianti Mahardhika shot 70 to claim the individual regional title. Mahardhika is the first women's player to claim back-to-back Region V titles. 

Other McLennan scores: Roanne Tomlinson, second, 71; Savannah Moody, third, 76; Ashlyn Hendricks, fourth, 77; Lydia Traylor, tied for fifth, 78; medalist Cheyenne Bell, tied for seventh, 79; and medalist Malory Hunter, ninth, 81.

Mahardhika, Tomlinson, Moody, Hendricks, Traylor and Emily Coleman of Western Texas were named to the All-Region Team. 

McLennan and Western Texas will represent Region V at the NJCAA National Championship May 16-19 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida. This is the 19th consecutive year McLennan has qualified for the national championship.
