Highlassies’ Rodriguez named Player of the Week

McLennan Community College women's golfer Alejandra Rodriguez has been named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Oct. 1-7.

The sophomore from Brownsville led the Highlassies to a sixth-place finish at the SHSU Bearkat Women's Invitational hosted by Sam Houston State University at the Ravens Nest Golf Club in Huntsville. She shot rounds of 74-78-77 – 229 to place 13th individually. McLennan finished 32 strokes ahead of the only other two-year college in the field.

The Highlassies will compete in the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic Oct. 16-17 in Oklahoma City.
