The McLennan Softball squad closed out a chilly day on the diamond with an 8-0 run-rule victory over the Salt Lake Bruins.
McLennan's first three runs came in the fourth inning. Rachel Wicker began the scoring with a solo home run. Riley Rutherford was hit by the pitch and Rose Gonzales walked. A fielder's choice by Jalie Neff put Gonzales out at second. Sydney Kirby then doubled to score Rutherford and Neff.
The final five McLennan runs came in the top of the fifth. Chesnee Faile reached on an error and Erin Plunkett followed with a fielder's choice. Wicker double to score Faile and Plunkett. Rutherford reached on an error, and Gonzales singled to score Wicker. Rutherford scored on an error, and Gonzales scored on a triple by Neff.
